Pineapple Smoothie Recipes
All pineapple smoothie recipes will taste even more delicious when you start with the juiciest, sweetest fruit available. Follow the tips in this
orange pineapple smoothie
recipe for how to choose the best pineapple. If there’s no-one around to help me eat the freshly cut fruit, I usually blend the whole pineapple in one go and freeze it in portions. Next time I'm making a smoothie, half the work is already done.
If you’re dealing with a really juicy fruit, then cut it on an old plate rather than a chopping board. This way you don’t lose all the juice over the sides of the board – just pour it into your blender from the plate. For a real cleansing health kick then include half a cucumber instead of or in combination with the iced water. I usually peel my kiwi and cucumber - although I know many people just throw it in, peel and all. Make sure you use unwaxed cucumbers if you plan to consume the skin too. Ingredients
Approx 1/4 - 1/3 fresh ripe pineapple (OR 2 cups unsweetened canned) 2 kiwi fruits 1/2 cucumber fresh aloe vera gel iced water or ice cubes Directions
- Peel and chop fresh pineapple, including the core
- Place in blender and blend until smooth
- Peel kiwi fruit and cucumber
- Add kiwi and cucumber and continue to blend until smooth
- Add aloe vera gel and blend for about 10 seconds
- Add enough iced water or ice cubes and blend to achieve desired consistency
